From the warm welcome that awaits you, the impeccable service from thoughtful friendly staff - whether it be directing you to a quiet spot in the garden, introducing you to fellow guests - or the depth of knowledge of the local area. The Luxury Lodges of New Zealand offer a standard of service and facilities akin to an intimate luxury hotel but delivered with the hospitable style and atmosphere of a boutique Lodge experience – where each guest is made to feel special.
A guest stay will likely include complimentary welcome beverages and canapes, in some cases in-room refreshments, a post dinner night cap or other amenities unique to each luxury lodge and unique to this style of accommodation. Each offers their own range of crafted exclusive gifts from organic skin care to clothing, merino throws and warm opossum socks to beautiful recipe books and other mementos to ensure a lasting memory.
Each luxury lodge has been thoughtfully designed offering large suite style rooms that far surpass a hotel room. Offering sitting areas, beautifully equipped bathrooms and exquisite linen guests can enjoy stunning lake, mountain, ocean and high-country views often from their own private outdoor verandas’ and in some cases hot tubs!
Unique to New Zealand's luxury lodges are 'Owners Cottages' a style of accommodation that is exclusive to guests whether they be a party of two or a group of up to 12 friends or family. Like what is more commonly known as a ‘private villa,' these however are fully serviced, fully staffed and all-inclusive of the luxurious features of the luxury lodge stay. Most properties in our collection offer an Owners Cottage separate to the main lodge providing an additional level of privacy and exclusivity.
Hospitality extends to offering experiences that are authentic and unique to each Luxury Lodge, with individual value-added features such as personal guides, wine & gourmet activities, authentic farm immersions, wellness retreats, fishing, hiking and golf to name a few of the recreational facilities available. The unsurpassed local knowledge of your hosts and their professional staff ensures all guests will enjoy the best of the beautiful New Zealand environment.
Cuisine and Wines
And nowhere is the exceptional hospitality more evident than with the dining experience at each of the Lodges. On site Chefs present an often daily changing seasonal menu presenting 'estate to plate' cuisine with an emphasis on regional produce. Dinner is a highlight where guests and hosts can share their day's highlights over contemporary food and expertly suggested New Zealand wines and beverages.
Breakfast is included in every luxury lodge stay and made fresh to order and your personal taste. As with all meals, our Luxury Lodge Chefs are on hand to create cuisine tailored to your dietary requirements. A luxury lodge picnic is a highlight of many a guest stay served in the most exclusive, remote and stunning locations in New Zealand.
Many Chefs will indulge guests in a foraging experience harvesting their carefully curated gardens or the winemaker, sommelier or host will conduct a tasting in the cellar. Several lodges produce their own vintage from onsite vineyards or even bottle their own gin from pure water sources.
