Set on a 254ha spectacular setting above the shores of Lake Taupo, is New Zealand's newest luxury lodge and resort, opened in 2016 and featuring New Zealand’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature 18-hole Links Golf Course which has been voted #1 course in New Zealand twice by PGA professionals. The Lodge’s wild adventure offering includes New Zealand’s most popular day hike, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing plus world class fly-fishing, white water rafting, forest and lakeside cycling tracks. Back at the lodge guests return to the spectacular Lodge’s welcoming whiskey and champagne bar with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the golf course to Lake Taupo, two restaurants with cuisine featuring the philosophy of ‘Estate to Plate ’ - organic and 100% pesticide free produce from the owners private estate. And award winning designer accommodation. The 18 junior suites and luxurious one and two bedroom villas, with clean burning fireplaces, outdoor furnished balconies have sensational views to Lake Taupo.
On the shores of New Zealand’s trout fishing capital Lake Taupo, the lodge was designed by award winning architect Andrew Patterson and acclaimed interior designer Virginia Fisher. Their brief was to emulate a version of the Kinloch region namesake Scottish castle, but with a truly modern 21st century design concept. The main lodge, with local schist stone exteriors features dramatic framed vistas of the sensational views of the golf course and the ever changing Lake Taupo. A commanding gangway entrance to the lodge leads to the lush central courtyard on guest arrival, with outdoor fireplace and reflecting pool. Arriving in the Great Room, a baronial feel of lush textures – velvet, fox fur, brass and copper then lead to The Dining Room, a bold but modern calm of whitewash, light and airy with seating of banquettes and lush sofas. The Bar which harks back to a time of leather and rock surfaces, cowhide, goat fur and burnt wood flooring is masculine and intense. For private dinners or meetings, The Den is regal – soft and warm with silver and gold’s, slate floors and lush New Zealand designed wool rugs. A “quiet” interior design creates a peaceful atmosphere in the 18 x junior suites, 1 and 2 bedroom villas. Calm sophistication envelopes the inside spaces with beautiful oak floors, a carbon-neutral fireplace, handmade New Zealand rugs and a stand-alone bathtub all with views over the course to Lake Taupo - all conveniently situated just a short stroll from the main lodge.
A world-class restaurant using produce reared from the private 2000 ha owners estate adheres to the ‘Estate to Plate’ organic philosophy where possible, of course matched with New Zealand and worlds best wines. Complementing the sporting of the internationally recognized golf course is a resort offering excellent in-lodge and villa entertainment facilities, an onsite spa specializing in sporting therapeutic and organic wellness treatments, an awesome infinity pool opening summer 2017/18 and tennis courts. The Lodge is also an unequaled new choice for weddings, conferences, private golf tournaments and very much more.
The Kinloch Club features New Zealand’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature 18-hole Links Golf Course, voted #1 course in New Zealand by PGA professionals. Two tennis courts, a swimming pool opening summer 2017/18, walking and horse-riding trails will engage guests onsite. Offsite, wild adventures are available including; New Zealand’s most popular day hike - the Tongariro Alpine Crossing; world-class fly-fishing, white water rafting, skiing, skydiving and some of New Zealand’s best cycling trails along the lake and through native forests.
