Chef Cesare Stella

Head Chef, Cesare Stella of The Lindis originated from the Emilia Romagna region in Italy before moving to Venice with his family at the age of 6.

Cesare’s mother was and incredible cook and this is where his devotion to beautiful food stemmed from . Cesare has always been captivated by flavours and how they work, how to create them but his true passion is the joy it can bring to people when tasting and eating his food.

After working as a chef in Italy for 8 years, Cesare moved to New Zealand nearly 30 years ago. Prior to The Lindis, Cesare worked at another Lindis Group Property as Head Chef for Paroa Bay Winery’s restaurant SAGE.

Cesare’s dedicated team at The Lindis provides a uniquely ‘New Zealand’ style of refined High Country cuisine paying homage to the abundant local produce.

Prepared in a contemporary and wholesome way, Cesare ensures representation of season and location in his style of cooking, using only the finest & freshest ingredients New Zealand has on offer.

As an avid and very talented gardener, foraging what he can from the wild,  the ponsite garden and using local produce ensures every plate is unique and designed to savour.
